Constructed in the 18th Century, believed to be around 1760, No. 55 is a modestly sized early Georgian house. Works included underpinning of the existing structure to increase basement level ceiling levels, reinforcing the existing timber floor plates, testing of existing lime mortar and proposing mixes to match original in structural and hydraulic performance, specification of bed joint stitching to reinforce and repair cracking to masonry structure and repair of existing granite stone facing & lintel.
